5 pages in length. On the heels of one of history's most horrendous tragedies,
the world is reassessing what it means to live within a vastly diverse global
community. Through this renewed appraisal after the World Trade Center and
Pentagon disasters, people are seeking comfort by way of myriad sources, not the
least of which is poetry and song. History has demonstrated how resilient people
can be when provided with the opportunity to address their sorrow and ultimately
find comfort. Book of Songs speaks to the need for emotional healing, inasmuch
as its very existence is based upon the foundation of understanding. Closely
examining these poems allows one to gain a significantly better realization of
the source of social sorrow that existed at that time, as well as whether or not
those people ever found comfort. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
