Military Strength of 21st
Century China
[ send

This 5 page report discusses whether or not China’s modernization and its
partnership in global enterprises and market opportunities demonstrates a true
commitment to modernization and advancement of its society and the Chinese
people or to an advancement of its military capabilities. Focus on the people of
China by its government in modern times has always been in terms of the
people’s ability, if not always willingness, to support its military machine.
There is no substantive reason to believe that such a mindset no longer exists.

One Aspect of Morgan Stanley's Investment
Risk in China
[ send
me this paper ]
A 5 page paper discussing Morgan Stanley's first-ever joint venture, and one in
which the investment bank in which the company was a partner lost money on
telecommunications infrastructure investing in China. Much of the loss incurred
later was traced to bribery. Associated risks could have been eliminated from
the telecommunications scenario and preserved at least some return for
investors. Staunch refusal would have delayed the telecommunications projects in
the short term, but those delays likely would have cost less than did the bribes
that were paid to effect their completion. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
